A very rainy Athens greeted us as we collected for our 2019 Tour. I have been coming to Greece since 2005 to lead this tour and this is the first time I have seen rain in Athens. It also showed that the natives here are not prepared for such weather and there were many "drowned rats" scarpering around the streets.
I did feel sorry for all the school children who were on a visit to Athens to see the Acropolis and museums during this their 3 day break before the summer holidays. There are at least 3 coach loads of the children staying at our hotel and most have come down from Thessaloniki, quite some distance.
Our whole team are here and am happy to report that Jeff has now received his luggage from the airport, all be it 24 hours after he arrived. Tomorrow we start our adventure and leave Athens for Delphi, but first we have a special site to visit. Many interesting sites and visits await us so, goodnight from here.
